Arcohe Falcon

Parents,

I wanted to give an update on our current understanding of the Coronavirus as it pertains to the students at Arcohe.  As you may know, Elk Grove Unified School District announced Saturday they are moving their Spring Break due to a suspected community exposure to the district.  At this time, Arcohe will remain open as we have no reason to believe there is an elevated risk in the district.  We are in direct contact with the Sacramento County Public Health (SCPH) Department as well as the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE).

To be vigilant with this as well all possible viruses, we continue deep cleaning precautions with added sanitizing taking place at the school this weekend.

SCOE and SCPH have reassured local school districts and the public that, to date, there are no diagnosed cases of novel coronavirus involving students or school staff in Sacramento County.

At this time, there is no immediate risk and therefore no recommendation from SCPH that any individual school or school district needs to close down. If diagnosed cases are discovered associated with schools, the public health department will advise what appropriate steps need to be taken, up to and including school closures or quarantines.

Arcohe does not have any confirmed cases with staff, students or families. In consultation with regional health leaders, district leaders and other neighboring districts including the Galt High School District and Galt Union Elementary School District, our schools will remain open.

Please assist with preventative health practices taken during cold and flu season. This includes:

  • Staying home if you have a fever or are sick.
  • Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue or your sleeve (not hands) when sneezing or coughing.
  • Washing hands with soap and water often or using a hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • Getting the flu shot. The flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, but is highly recommended to help keep you healthy.

As we have important additional information to share, you will be updated. Thank you.
