Mrs. Susan Abellan  abellan@arcohe.net

I was born and raised in Michigan.  I came to visit sunny California one February day and after 20+ years, I am still here.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree from CSU Sonoma in Business Administration.  I have a Multiple Subject, K – 12 teaching credential and a Special Education teaching credential, which I received from CSUS.  This is my second year teaching Special Education students at Arcohe.  I am married, have 2 sons who previously attended Arcohe and now attend Galt High School.  I am a local resident and love working here in my hometown and having a five-minute commute.  I hope to be here for many more years to come.

I received my degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and my teaching credential at National University in Sacramento. I am a proud Herald resident where I live with my husband and daughter. My family and I have lived in this great little town for 21 years now and I love teaching in a small community where you can really get to know your students and their families!

Mrs. Meg Bates                   bates@arcohe.net

This is my Thirteenth year teaching at Arcohe. I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades as well as Title I.  I received my education at Sacramento State University.  I was born and raised in the mountain community of Bishop, CA and have lived all over the state.  I have been a member of the Herald community for over 20 years.  My family consists of my husband and two sons (both of whom attended Arcohe from K-8th grade!).  We now live on a small ranch locally where we enjoy our horses, cattle and the country life.

This is my sixth year at Arcohe School. I began my teaching career at Arcohe. While working here, I have earned a Master’s Degree and completed requirements for a Clear Credential as well as a CLAD certificate. Along with those professional developments, my husband and I have welcomed our first child during my years at Arcohe! Our daughter will be 2 in November, joining two rambunctious dogs and a grouchy, old cat to make up the Frizzell “kids”!

Ms. Maggie Goss    goss@arcohe.net

This is my 7th year at Arcohe, my 13th in the teaching profession.  I have a bachelors degrees in French, History, and English; as well as a masters in Education. I recently earned the CLAD credential from CSUS.

Although I have taught a variety of grade levels, I find great joy in teaching children to read.  I have lived in 6 states and 2 foreign countries.  This rather nomadic life style (and the fact that my two grown children live in distant states) has spawned a real love of travel.

This is my 7th year teaching at Arcohe school. After spending 6 years teaching 6th grade I am now teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math & reading. This will also be my 4th year acting as the advisor for the Arcohe Student Council. Every year brings new challenges and excitement at Arcohe, but one thing never changes and that is the wonderful support given by the community of Herald/Wilton/Galt that makes teaching at Arcohe GREAT!

Mrs. Sarah Lowery

I graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal studies in May 2006.  Then I did my student teaching in the San Juan Unified Elementary School District, at Carmichael Elementary.  In December 2006 I received my Teaching Credential.  Then I got my job here at Arcohe and I am thrilled!!

This is my first real teaching experience, besides substitute teaching, which I have done a lot.  I may be new to teaching, but I’m not new to Arcohe.  I went to school at Arcohe in 7th and 8th grade, before the East Campus.  I fell in love with it then and I’m happy to be back now.

I am also newly married to a wonderful man who delivers coffee for Alhambra Spring Water.  We live in our lovely apartment in Elk Grove and we are so excited to be starting our lives together.

I can’t wait for a super year!!

Mrs. Leslie Myers              myers@arcohe.net

I am a special education teacher instructing students in grades 4,5,and 6.  I am also a new mother of a beautiful daughter.  Being a new mother, I have gained a new perspective on teaching.  I know that it is important to treat all students as I would want my daughter treated at school.  Teaching is a very rewarding career. I also enjoy singing, dancing, and entertaining friends.

Mrs. Carol Reller        creller@scoe.net

I graduated from Sacramento State University with my Masters in Speech/Language Pathology.  I then worked in the Elk Grove District for 16 years.  My first 11 years was spent teaching in a special day classroom for children with severe disorders of language.  I then became the itinerant speech and language specialist for 5 years.  The opportunity arose for me to become the speech and language specialist at Arcohe.  This was appealing because I live in this community and I have had my 3 children attending Arcohe for the past 10 years.  I am excited to be here, and enjoy working with our special education population.

Mrs. Jenise Satoshige satoshige@arcohe.net

Hi!  I’m Jenise Satoshige and I am teaching the 1st and 2nd grade combination class this year.  I am a graduate of California State University, Sacramento and I did my student teaching in the Elk Grove Unified School District.  This is my 17th year at Arcohe.  It has been my pleasure to know and work with the many teachers and families that have come through Arcohe.  Seeing my former students is a lot of fun.  I enjoy working with the elementary students because they have a lot of enthusiasm for learning and say the cutest things that make me smile each day.  I have two children of my own.  Lauren is a third grader and Sean is in kindergarten.  My husband Wayne and I love to spend our time with them.

Originally from North Dakota, I moved to California and grew up in Sacramento.  After graduating high school, I got married, had my daughters, and wised up and went to college.  I graduated from CSUS, and recently completed my 17th year of teaching.   In 2007 I returned to school to further my education in the field of mathematics.  In my not so spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, and our three springer spaniels.  During the last year and a half I've been doing triathlon training and encourage students to say no to "High Fructose Corn Syrup!!!"
